What I want to know is, "How did you con your meddling girlfriend into buying you a Noctilux?" And if it's a really great way, maybe some of us old time married guys might get it to work on our long term wives! :) Not bloody likely, they're too damn smart for our own good!:) <<<<< Will she have to go to "Noctilux anonymous" on account of this fiasco?>>>> Not likely her. However, you may have to when she finds out exactly how much money you're costing her!:) When the box is opened and the total amount of money is revealed, you better have some great lines ready like, "Feel the weight of this honey, I told you it was the same value as gold!" Because if you don't have some cover story about gold and platinum you're in deep doo doo! :) You know the saying, "Diamonds are a girls best friend" that maybe for women. But a "Noctilux is a Leica photographer's best friend!" :) Well I guess you being up there in frozen ass Alaska you might consider some 100 proof rum or the wildest you can get. :) But if you can find a fine bottle of Lagavullin Scotch I'm sure it'll ease the waiting pain. You have a choice, use it gently and enjoy the long winters night, or go hell bent for election, drink the whole thing, go unconscious and when you wake-up....if you do!:) the waiting game is over! And you'll have your shiny new Noctilux awaiting you to go bounding across the tundra taking great Leica images by the light of the midnight sun.:) Tony, it is a wonderful lens and it creates amazing images when others stay in the box for lack of speed. However, it is a lens to be used carefully until you learn the recording ability at f 1.0! Best of luck you'll do just great. ted Ted Grant This is Our Work.
