I never owned a Noctilux. (Sorry if my post was misleading.) The Noct is one of
three lenses I aspired to own, the other two being the 35/1.4 ASPH and the
21/2.8. I bought the 21/2.8 ASPH when it first came out a little over a year ago
and replaced my 21 SA. A short time later I bought the 50 Summilux, primarily
because I came across one at a very good price. As it turns out, the Summilux
has taken much of my desire to own the Noct and the 35/1.4. My standard lens was
a 35 Cron, now it's the 50 Summilux. I like fast lenses. I like to own a
Noctilux, just not as much as I once did. The 50 Summilux is a "jack of all
trades, but master of none". As such it's a workhorse lens which lacks the
sizzle of some others in the M line.
