Flare can sometimes be due to defects in the anti-reflection paint on the
edges of the thicker lens elements. Light at certain oblique angles hits
be lens edge and reflects back onto the film. I had a Canon wide-angle
lens whose flare was remarkably improved by correcting this. You might ask
a knowledgeable lens repair person about this.  Or if your lens is under
warranty have Leica look at it.
