I was initially a little confused by the is a serious short circuit in the
logic from first paragraph to second paragraph. I think I finally got it
figured out though. #1 says keep serial number secret or camera will be
ripped off by any Tom Dick or Harry reporting camera stolen with that
serial number. #2 says if camera ripped off and rightful owner reports it
stolen by serial # you can't get it back. I guess the real moral of the
story is that in addition to black tape over red dots to hide true identiy
of Leica, all serial numbers should be removed for security reasons. I
truly appreciate these helpful insights.
