Subject: [Leica] M - Confusion

Since I just signed on yesterday I'm not sure what the
Porsche Analogy thread is. But, if a Leica is to be
compared to any (German) brand of car shouldn't it
be BMW? After all, both companies have made M1's,
M3's, M5's and M6's!

Which brings up a (kinda) funny happening I forget to
mention in my introduction last night. Last year I decided
to take the plunge and get into BMWs and bought --
what else -- a BMW M3. It was a used one and not the
present body style but the original (E30) M3 body
style (1990). At any rate, after buying the car I learned
of a users group specifically for these cars and joined it.

After joining LUG early yesterday and receiving the
first deluge of posts, ;-), I actually ran accross a few
posts that talked about M3's and immediately assumed
they were from the BMW M3 list. Took me a few
moments of confused reading to realize it was from
the new LUG group!

Perhaps after joining this list I will be inspired to pick up
another M3 -- but of the Leica persuasion -- to add to
my collection of SM's. I'm sure many of you will be
able to convince me to do so :-).

P.S. -- Thank you to the several people who sent me
greeting e-mails in response to my introduction yesterday.
