 Hi All ,
`
I would like to take advantage of this forum and try to help one of our Leica
Collectors, and a long time LHSA member. Also, I would like to alert you from
buying the stolen goods and or accepting any COD cashier checks from Fleet Bank
in Melville, New York.

Mike advertised, in the classified section of "Shutterbug" Magazine, that he
has camera gear for sale. He got a call from a guy in New York wanting to buy
his Leica and Contarex outfits.
He then sent the Camera Gear via UPS, COD, Cashier check only.
It all went according to the rules except that this Cashier check, from the
Fleet Bank in Melville, NY, were stolen about one year ago and thus, are not
worth anymore than a scrap paper.
After checking with the bank, he found out that a STOCK of cashier checks were
stolen about one year ago. This theft cost him $30,000. So Please beware
!!!!!
