I think the LUG has sunken to a new all time low. How can we expect the people in Solm, who read this list, to take us seriously?>>>>>>> <<Actually how can anyone take the LUG seriously with this kind of nonsense, let alone Leica! My comment to Mr.Delesandri: Please sir, this is the LUG and family, it doesn't condone nor allow this kind of verbal abuse as a put down of another person! Thank you.>> Er, couple things: First; the SUBJ is wrong- there is NO Leica content in those messages (any of them). It should have been [No Leica Content]. Second; didn't know the purpose of this newsgroup was to impress the people at Solm. Thought it was for free exchange of information about a specific camera and all the things around it. Third; there are always thought police in news groups who try to herd individuals into some imagined line to toe. While their intent is genuine, they merely contribute to the clutter -wasting band width, give further life to topics that should be dropped or ignored (when they should have sent their comment privately to an 'offender'), and they must come away from the kepboard with an inflated sense of purpose. When you click the button that says <subscribe> you admit a particular passion for whatever the <subject> is. In this case, something Leica related. Passion sometimes gets misplaced or over-stimulated, and statements are made that border on heresy. Many times a poster had his tongue in cheek but it certainly didn't come across that way (not making excuses for Mr. Delesandri.) There are those that turn them into personal attacks, and others who wax poetic in meaningless drivel. These are sometimes called 'flames'. No matter WHAT the subject, each and every newsgroup shares the same kind of cyclical sequence of resurgent flaming. No matter WHO, there is always some self appointed deity who purports to speak for the group (ListMeister not withstanding). And without a doubt; none of them get the program. A NewsList is an entity unto itself; living and breathing, with all the foibles of human nature multiplied by the number of subscribers. You CANNOT train the beast, and you can NEVER silence it (until you shut it down). 'Tis far better to ignore than to allow ignorance to get the better of you. exactly 2 cents worth and nothing else.
