Your comments about Microdol-X are interesting- My understanding was that it
was a 'fine' grain developer due to it containing a 'silver solvent' like
sodium sulfite. Its activity was also enhanced by a well buffered, low pH
alkali activator- like a borate whereas Rodinal uses a high pH activator
 sodium hydroxide) since it is used in such dilute working solutions. Hmmmm-
have you ever souped in D-19? :)
