Dear Marc,
I wonder if you can help me with info about a Leica screw mount
rangefinder coupled lens I found in my closet while cleaning up. I must
have had it for at least 15 years but never paid any attention to it !
It is a coated 5,8cm/1.5 Sonnar in Aluminium mount, much
lighter than Contax Sonnars, with a black front rim on which the lens info
is marked. Serial no is 104xxxx.
Now I know 5 cm Sonnars were made in Leica mounts, and also 5,8
cm Biotars, but I don't recall reading anything about 5,8 cm Sonnars. Am I
correct in assuming that this is a 1950's Jena lens ?
          TIA.
                                         Regards,
                                         Akhil
