Does anyone here know how Leica calculates its depth of field scales?
Specifically, what size is the circle of confusion used in Leica's
calculations?

I've read that Canon and Nikon use 0.03 mm (or at least they did, back
when their lenses *had* real DOF scales), and that Zeiss is more
conservative, using 0.025 mm.
