The B1 is a gem, though a slightly flawed one, as I find the pan knob to be kind of poorly thought out, and the QR release knob will clash against the base of the head if left loose during transit. The B1 works well with the M, but is best suited for a heavier camera such as the Hasselblad. Really Right Stuff's M plate is very well made, but takes some getting used to, as it seems rather large. I think of it as armor plating, far more useful than the adhesive plastic sheet.
