A friend of mine has this combination (B1 head and RRS plate) on a
Gitzo legset, and I've tried it out briefly. It's a match made in
heaven for someone who uses tripods. The B1 head is a fantastic piece
of engineering, and the RRS accessories are clever, well thought out,
and totally functional.

I'd never get them because I don't use tripods, but he uses an F4 with
a 200mm macro lens and for him this combination is like Moses'
tablets.
