It work fine since!. I have no idea what it would have cost me without passport service. I would think if by now a pre-owned R3/4 or 5? ( I thought R4s/P, and R5 had all the bugs rung out) haven't failed it should work okay depending on use. But I could be wrong ;-) The above mentioned R has since been stolen, I would replace with a R4sP or later if cost is an issue, else risk a possible hefty repair bill on R3 or 4. As I once understood it, Leica basically rebuild the machine, so perhaps it's worth the price. <paul>
