Would you happen to know whether it's the same with the R lenses (90
 Summicron and 90 Elmarit)? >>
I have both 90mm lenses for the R cameras. The Elmarit is the higher
resolution lens, however the Summicron makes absolutely gorgeous portraits
wide open. I have had the 90 Summicron R's ever since they came out - my
favorite "people" lens. It produces beautifully saturated slides with
wonderful color differentiation in the shadow areas.
In short they are both wonderful lens, but have somewhat different
applications.
