I took it to mean that beautifully clear pictures
"of" the camera (not "by" the camera) were available.

And $16,500 for a broken camera?  Now I *know* I'll
never understand collectors :-)

Hmm, interesting that it takes "beautifully clear pictures" when the 
shutter and transport are non-functional.
     
The "upon request" bit sounds like the camera in Terry Pratchett's 
books: You ask the daemon inside to kindly paint you a picture... ;-)
