I have wanted a Leica since I was a child, but now that I can afford it, I realize that it's not the best camera in the world. I don't think I would ever buy a Leica SLR. In my opinion, they are technically obsolescent and way over priced. If you want a camera that large, you're better off with a Nikon F5. I have several Nikon SLR's including F3's, an FM2, and and F5. I think the M series camera is the best there is for a certain narrow range of applications, but if you want TTL flash control or shoot with long focal length lenses or a lot of other things, you're wasting your money on Leica. Since, for long focal length lenses I prefer NIKON, I'm not interested in the new, high magnification M6. The term "woof ticket" or "wolf ticket" has to do with being sold a bill of goods or having the wool pulled over one's eyes. Think of wolves and sheep or a wolf in sheep's clothing. It comes from Black English. If the answer is nix, I wonder which of the M6 viewfinders do you prefer? Also, what's your fix on the weight and size of the R8? Is TTL metering going to be of interest to you? Hey, do you know a source of cheap Summitar UV filters? Just interested in your opinions. BTW, what's a "woof ticket"? Regards John
