Do you have the newer, lighter 180/2.8? I have the heavier version, and if I
brace against something, I do find that the added mass of that lens makes
for a pretty steady shot!
I always 'shoot' the camera the way i was taught to shoot a gun- keep your
elbows down, inhale, hold, squeeze don't jerk ( more accurately, press
gently, don't jab with a camera!), and then exhale. Works fine except when I
have the motor drive and I tend to shoot until I get dizzy!
