Subject: [Leica] Tri-Elmar-M tested by CDI

The French magazine Chasseur d'Images tested the Tri-Elmar-M 28-35-50mm
f/4 ASPH in their lasted issue (August-September).
Results: 4 stars (out of 5) for performance, 2 for price/performance
ratio, and 4 stars for c=F4te d'amour (subjective feeling about how they
like the lens).
If one looks at the combined resolution/contrast charts, it is evident
that best results are obtained at the 50mm setting. The 28 and 35mm
settings are a bit less, especially at f/4 and f/5.6. At f/8 only the
28mm setting is slightly behind the other two.
As far as mechanical finish is concerned, top marks (as usual for Leica
gear) are given, but they also note that the focal ring is a bit hard to
turn.

If only they tested the new Summilux-R 50 f/1.4 very soon :-)
