I personally don't believe the M6HM is any different than the M6, except for the rangefinder. Which means that the film mechanism is identical. From the sound of your problem, I would suspect a major problem with the lens. Back to filters. Seriously. I know nothing about the 75/1.4 but I do know from personal experience (corroborated by many others) that the 180/3.4 APO has a problem with filters. They can throw focus way off.
