I think, if my memory serves me right, the (Russel Miller) Magnum book   
tells a horrific story of Capa's D-day pictures being processed down the   
plughole by some young lad back in London.
I wouldn't want to be the one that told him that...

Go see Saving Private Ryan. As you sweat and flinch through the first 25   
minutes, imagine you are in one of the LSTs, you are dumped into the   
surf, you are armed only with a Contax or Leica, you are trying to   
survive - and you are trying to take photos. You have to come away   
wondering how anyone - including Capa, got anything.
