My CF tripod has changed much of my way of working. It goes where no tripod has gone before (mainly, with me!). The trick is to hang the camera bag, or backpack, or whatever on it. Then the rigidity works, the weight stabilizes and everything fine. You've used that trick on heavier tripod, I'll wager, so same trick, but fewer lbs getting to the favorite spot. Hey, I've got a 15 lb gitzo too and still hang weight on it. But now it only goes where I need its extra height. And someday, it will be replaced. Now if we could only lighten the big lenses and the batteries....... donal - -- Donal Philby San Diego http://www.donalphilby.com
