I talked to John Van Stelten of Focal Point in Colorado and he seemed to be very knowledgeable about this problem. He says that the problem is only in the paint toward the front of the barrel, behind the front element. He says he fixed a lot of these lenses by removing the front element and replacing the paint with one which will not deteriorate, like the original paint does. I talked with him about a year ago and at that time he was charging $150 for the repair. I did not have a chance to have mine repaired because somebody bought my CLE set it as is. His number is (303) 665-6640. I think he advertises in Shutterbug. Ben LEICAMAN56@aol.com wrote: > Steve, > > I've got the same problem with my Minolta 28.
