Apparently as a result of poor stock performance in the last two quarters. It seems that someone needed to take the blame. Rather unfair, since most of Leica's stock woes can be directly traced to poor sales in the Pacific Rim. Leica needs to make a big impact at Photokina 98 in September. Let's all keep our fingers crossed for the new M body that has been talked about so much on the LUG. >> - -------------------------------------- Bill: I would almost be willing to bet my M6 that by this time next year, Leica will have a new owner (or at least one with controlling interest). Pac Rim sales are not going to recover over night. Many new CEO's under these same conditions have found new buyers (i.e., capital) as their "recovery plan." Samsung? Kyocera? Let's hope Kyocera. A good number of Luggers' wish list for the next R or M can easily be made possible by our close cousins at Contax. M2C, Arturo
