Another possibility altogether would be a new
lens series with leaf shutters.  Like a 2000FC
Hasselblad with a CF lens, either shutter could
be used.  On the body there could be a "C" setting
to allow the use of the lens shutter; on the lens,
there could be an "F" setting to allow use of the
body's focal plane shutter.

Voila, best of both worlds.
