perhaps it is this reality that people don't want to see ? it's the
cinderella effect ?

i suggest that because surely it is the customer that is king here, and
if the customer doesn't want to be reminded of just how bad things really 
are for their fellow citizens they don't renew their subscriptions ?

bringing me back to the lack of compelling photos ? photos that we don't
*want* to see yet are so compelling that we yearn to see more ?
