something that occurs to me, in this debate, is that unless
you are actually buying new glass and/or new bodies from leica
your opinions about what is cool, or not, about leica's gear is
kind of moot in terms of leica's future success.

in a sense, it is a testament to their lack of development that
the thriving secondhand market in their equipment exists. they
are confounded by their historical success ?

i jokingly pointed out that senority on this list might be
better served by a "$$$s spent / days since spending" formula.
if you think about that for more than a brief moment i think
you'll see one of leica's problems and how that problem manifests
itself on this list.

unless leica can develop photographic equipment that keeps people
buying new products, whether those people are existing or new users,
leica will be out of business. all their gear will become "future
collectible".....
