In the '80's most industrial and all daily news film position became electronic technicians. The theaterical industry is still film driven but almost all other forms of motion capture are now electronic. As a business photography will seek the largest profit and if that is using electronic capture it will go that way. Today a good deal of daily news is being recorded by electronic media not film and as equipment cost fall, not quality improve, more newspapers and small publication will use less film. As a hobby, in many high end productions and as an art form film will be around until the manufacturers decide it is no longer cost effective to produce small amounts. Leica's will not be just collectors peices in the next 20-30 years but remember your aren't going out today and buy 126 film in the flavor of your choice or any made today. Increase your shooting and help keep film alive. happy snaps, Steven
