Because I used to shoot with an SLR, I was in the habit of holding the camera in my left hand, cradling the lens. This same practice with the M6 put my thumb prints all over the viewfinder! The M-grip forces me to hold the camera in my right hand and my viewfinder has been fingerprint-free. The grip also puts the tripod socket in the center of the camera. The best US$80 I have spent on Leica equipment. Leica now sells half of the ever-ready case--the part that the camera body slips into. This leather "glove" also has a small handgrip built- in. It was a tough choice for me, but the relocation of the tripod socket with the M-grip did it for me. Good luck Arturo
