Does the difference in size and 'pocketability' make up for the difference in overall image quality? >> To me the 2.8 is a fine lens for general purposes. It is not have quite the resolution or contrast as the 2.0. However, for general photos up to 8 x 10, I find it quite acceptable - particularly if I stop down one or two stops. I generally do not use it, because the size of 50 2.0 is not a problem in my general situations. For times when one wants a truly pocketable camera, the 2.8 would be a good choice. Tom Shea
