To all who have contributed (hastily and freely) to this thread:

Maybe the seller is indeed a crook (albeit a dumb one) but maybe he could be
an innocent victim himself, in which case I hope he has a bill of sale for
the item which are reported stolen.
Let us not jump to conclusions without the facts.
