This kind of categorical statement is really unnecessary and substanti- ally unhelpful. Not everyone carries their Leicas with a cocked shutter in a bag. A large number of people will only cock the shutter just prior to taking a photograph, or perhaps in anticipation of taking one, when the camera is well out of the bag. In addition, soft releases are appreciated by many people for the enhanced feel they give to the camera. Many report being able to control the shutter release better, improved stability, or just greater sensuous pleasure from silky smooth operation (which is more than "just" when I think about it... ;) M. - -- Martin V.
