I'm trying a new 21mm Asph. lens and found that the corners are soft and
with poor focus.  I tried at all the apertures and the problem has been
always there.  Is that a characteristic of this lens?  The center of the
image is very sharp and with very nice contrast and as the image
progress outwards it starts loosing sharpness and contrast.

I've used the lens without any filter on it, on a tripod, on a Leica M6.
