As I happily sauntered into my local camera store to look at a new/used
Nikon lens it the window, the shop owner who'd known me for a while stopped
me and "plunked" a R4 and a new 35 summicron in my hands. He said to me
that before he would let me spend any more money, I needed to 'experience'
a Leica. I had known for a while that he was a Leica man, but I thought
Leica equipment to be for people who don't know what to do with their
money. Being the curious type that I am I decided to take him up on the
offer to shoot a roll. I did and to this day I thank that man. I, like
Mr. Brick pointed out, had never known why I should own a Leica.

That was a little over a year ago and since that time I've lent out that
same R4 and summicron and converted two others (out of two). Leica has
maintained the magical feel of taking a photo - something lacking in many
other high end systems.

P.S. I suppose I'm one of the pups of this group at 28.
