As far as the red lights go, in my experience you get used to them. In fact, you'll be glad to have them right there where you can see them instead of fumbling with another light meter, looking at the aperture setting and speed and matching everything by hand! Surely that's much more distracting than two little lights at the bottom of the frame. Just keep using your M6. After about 400 rolls of film, you won't even notice those lights, except when you need them!
