Your choice may depend in part on which 400 you will get.  If you are
thinking of the f/6.8 I'd recommend against the R6 or R6.2 only because i=
t
does not have any intermediate shutter speeds.  The 400 f/6.8 is a
marvelous hand-held lens that is used best at full aperture.  To get prop=
er
exposure you need a camera with intermeidate shutter speeds, such as the =
R7
in an automatic mode.  Using manual settings with the R7 you only have
half-stop shutter speed increments but that's better than the R6/R6.2 ful=
l
stop increments.
