And, imagine, you might fumble with/ forget the cap on your front element (M Leica), while you react on a certain situation within the fractions of a second - the scene is gone, the picture is lost, hence no money. Additionally, you often hold the camera above persons' heads in front of you, eyes on the scene ... you simply cannot give attention to the lens cap.
