Besides www.geocities.com you can try www.tripod.com.  Both have free
web page hosting.  Both pop up advertising if you have java and/or
javascript enabled.  (Hint, don't enable it unless the site you visit
requires it)

There are some other free webpage sites but I don't remember them right
now.
