Even though it passed, I am still glad it wasn't on one of my M lenses. I was photographing cherry blossoms against the blue sky when a shadow passed over me. A bird had made a very large deposit on my up turned lens. I rushed inside and carefully wiped the deposit off the lens with a paper towel and then cleaned the front element with a Q Tip and lens cleaning fluid I used a tooth brush to clean out the barrel of the lens. The glass looks fine, but there is a slight grating sound when I focus, but everything looks ok. Maybe there is something to be said for a UV filter after all Ken Oakville Ontario
