Thanks for the advice.
I just ordered a couple of the new zinc-air(?) batteries that I was told put
out the same voltage as the PX625 mercury cell. The salesperson said that you
have to wait about 30 mins. after removing the cover on the cell to use the
battery, which means you better not be in the middle of shooting something
when it goes bad... It's stuff like that keeps a handheld meter in my bag all
the time.

 I guess time will tell about longevity. If they only last a short while I'll
try the MR-9 adapter from C.R.I.S.. They advertise it at $29.95, and the 76
batteries are cheap. Even if you must replace them frequently as the voltage
goes down, at least they're inexpensive and readily available.
