I have the 35-70 f4.0. It is the best zoom lens I have ever used: extreemly
sharp, good contrast rendition, excellent flatness of field, and very little
linear distortion throughout the range of the lens. It is remarkable in that
it is only an 8-element zoom, with one aspherical element. Only drawbacks are
it isn't a 2.8, and the single helicoil focus if one uses polarizers. It may
be difficult to find one used, since they are a very new design.
