So why didn't she sue her classmates or their parents?  Are the
kids not the *direct* cause of the problem?

Yes, I'm joking.

Seriously though, kids laugh, tease, and harass each other
constantly - it's part of being a kid and going to school
and interacting with other people.  You're supposed to learn
to deal with it, either by ignoring it, teasing back, or
probably worse (but sometimes warranted), fighting over it.

It's astounding that some people believe they've got a guarantee
to go through life and have everyone else watch out for the
slightest possible thing that could offend them.
