We seem to agree: there is a lot to be done to make the Web experience more efficient in the field of picture viewing and distribution. Some of the progress resides on the publisher's side (scanning, compression techniques, etc) and on his contract with his site server (Web disk space), and some of the progress requires upgrading of the viewer's IT system. In between, a lot of progress is required on the bandwidth side, which, again in 99 pct of the cases, is not a variable that the Web user can control. But it is a wrong assumption to believe that simply putting 'nice looking' or 'leicaglowing" images on a Web page is going to do them justice today. Alan Brussels-Belgium.
