All:

The other day I had the opportunity to see, to fondle and to look
through the new 50/1.4 R and 180/2.8 APO R. They are both _very nice_.
The R8 viewfinder with the 50/1.4 is unnaturally bright; it's truly
beautiful. Leica has made the new 50/1.4 wider than the old version so
it feels better on the R8 (and doesn't look as small on it). I think
the combination handles well. Also, the focusing is very smooth, even
by Leica standards.

As for the new 180, the internal focusing is really neat and very
smooth. The lens is also quite small and light. It has the shape of
the old 180/2.8 but is about the size of the old 180/3.4 APO. Also, it
has the same hard rubber hood and focusing ring as the new 70-180.

I want both.
