I have the present generation 50 2.0.  I am very impressed with this lens.
The various reports indicate that the 2.0 is slightly sharper than the 2.8.  I
am really getting the 2.8 mainly for fun.  Although theer may be times when
the size of the 2.8 would be an advantage for carrying a camera in my pocket.
