There is an article in the new edition of Shutterbug Magagine that I received
today about this.  They conclude that with a few exceptions, it is generally
not a problem.

However, I personally continue to be conservative on this issue.  I take all
of my film out of the boxes and canisters and request hand inspection.  I have
never been refused.  I just do not like the idea of those x-rays bouncing off
(or through) my film.
