A bunch of us are arguing over whether Leica still DESIGNS things to the same standards. Current production problems are quality control, a whole different point. As a Leica fan, I am sorry about your difficulties, and these are certainly not what I have encountered in my very few purchases of new gear -- being an Honest Attorney (i.e., poor, broke, and dumb!), I rarely have the funds to procure Leica gear new.
