LUGgers -

After all this talk about how great Really Right Stuff camera plates are, I
just priced out what I'd need from them to attach to my Linhof Profi II
ballheads and Leica and Nikon cameras -- $431!!!

I'm sure this stuff is great but shouldn't they be called Really Expensive
Stuff? I do appreciate quality, but is an RRS "system" really worth this
level of investment (it would be less expensive if I had started out with
the Arca B-1, but I actually prefer the Linhof Profi II's to the Arca
ballheads).

Also, given the need to use a hex wrench to attach the RRS plates to camera
bodies, do you simply leave the plates on the cameras most of the time, even
for non-tripod use?

I don't mean to sound cheap with these questions, and I will tell you that I
love my Adorama 20-400/f9.2 lens with special LL-Foo M6 attachment , but
....... :)
