It comes in black and is available at most hardware stores for about $1.50. It is waxy substance in stick form intended for filling small imprefections in finished wood. It works exceptionally well for filling small imprefections or missing pieces (chips) in Leica vulcanite body covering or for filling lettering on black cameras when you don't want to advertise what camera you have in hand. It stay in the grooves exceptionally well, is waterproof, but can be removed latter should you want to. It is also easy to use. You simply rub the stick over the area you want covered and it fills low spots. You can then wipe off any access with a small piece of cloth and a bit of pressure from your finger. As to the red dot, well black gaffers tape is pretty tough to be. Better than electrical tape that tends to endlessly emit glue around the edges in hot weather. Hope this helps, Don
