If one is a collector of Leica cameras one should absolutely check the equipment prior to purchasing it. One could be buying a defective product without knowing it. If these plastic-wrapped pieces go into a vault to gain value for future sale to other collectors, one could have a rude awakening. Unless, of course, the plastic never comes off and the equipment is kept in its wrapped box in perpetuity. This I consider a crime. Oscar is probably rolling in his grave. When I buy anything - from vegetables to cars - I inspect it prior to forking over my hard-earned cash. Just as I wouldn't buy a wilted head of lettuce, I wouldn't buy a piece of camera equipment that isn't up to snuff. >I knew a dealer in Edmonton, Alberta who had a customer who bought four of >each item Leica put up for sale. Only a moron (no disrespect intended) would buy something as expensive as camera equipment without first inspecting it. Pv Paul vanPeenen and Liz van'terve paddler@istar.ca
