Guys and gals,
You know all this stuff on weddings and how to shoot them is at a point of
making me throw-up on my Leica's All the M6's!! With the R8's getting the
dessert!
In all my years and I shot more than my share of these emotional show
things that when I finally broke free and started my own business, I swore
I'd never do another wedding!
But money and friends can be very persuasive! :) So with Leicas in hand, I
shot a few and then they beget more requests and I thought to end this I
should set a price so that I can buy the new Leica lenses I want, then this
crap photography will be worth doing! Seemed reasonable.:)
However even though I set a "what I thought was an exorbitant price and
conditions at the time: $2000.00 and I'll hand all the rolls to the Best
man at the end of the day!" I'd be paid immediately and I'd never hear
from them again! Their friends and others kept calling!
Damn! And I had all the Leica gear I could use! :) So I upped the price to
$3000.00 and they could take the damn film to a 1 hour lab as long as they
didn't come back and bug me! And don't tell your friends!
Leicas only made my job easier, because I did everything by available
light!
Flash? Well hell if you want one of those kinda guys then OK, get someone
else! That isn't my style!:) You see I really didn't want to do this
stuff and anyone in their right mind wouldn't do it either. But the money
is soooooooo gooooooood that you can't afford to turn it down!

God some of the outdoor sunny stuff I shot had to look like hell, but I
never saw it, as I always gave the film to the best man and that was the
end of the wedding!
Look this is a very good way to do it, as you don't have to put up with all
the "after the wedding BS!" Ordering all the damn prints, sorting etc. and
reliving every minute of the sordid event as the bride glowingly relives
every moment while looking at your "beautiful pictures!! :)
Mean while her mother glowers in the background because you didn't get a
nice picture of her radiant self! :)
Any how I guess you get the message by now, that however you shoot a
wedding is your own problem and headaches! But they are not worth doing
unless you make the maximum amount of money with the least amount of
aggravation, so that you can buy the maximum amount of Leica gear of your
choice! :) So that you can take the kind of pictures that bring you the
maximum of satisfaction! :) Trust me, would I lie to you? :)
